Welcome to Christchurch, known as the ‘Garden City’ where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Today is yours for optional activities. Stay 1 night in Christchurch.
Day 2 - Christchurch - Glaciers
Board the TranzAlpine train to traverse the Southern Alps to Greymouth. Coach down the West Coast to the glaciers. Stay 1 night in Franz Josef or Fox Glacier townships.
Day 3 - Glaciers - Queenstown
Dense rainforest contrasts with rugged coastal vistas as you journey deeper into South Westland, before reaching the Southern Lakes district and the alpine resort of Queenstown. Stay 3 nights in Queenstown.
Day 4 - At Queenstown
Today is free for you to enjoy this fabulous alpine village. We have included the Skyline Gondola in your tour.
Day 5 - Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown
A full day taking in the wonders of Milford Sound and Mitre Peak, while enjoying lunch aboard a cruise on the Sound, returning to Queenstown by evening.
Day 6 - Queenstown - Taieri Gorge - Dunedin
This morning board a coach to Pukerangi where you will join the Taieri Gorge train. Enjoy breath-taking views on this historic journey to Dunedin. Stay 2 nights in Dunedin
Day 7 - At Dunedin
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Dunedin.This afternoon you will see penguins, fur seals and albatross on this unique Otago Peninsula wildlife tour.
Day 8 - Dunedin - Christchurch
Travel north through historic Oamaru, and seaside Timaru, then across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch arriving early evening. Please note, no commentary is provided on this journey.
